Double barrel aged English style Imperial Stout finished in a Cabernet French oak barrel. The English Imperial Stout is a strong, full-bodied dark ale with a rich malt profile, with a high alcohol content, and complex flavors of roasted chocolate, coffee, dark fruits, and subtle hop bitterness. The first aging imparted bourbon and vanilla notes. Finishing in the Cabernet barrel added a new layer of complexity with a softer berry character that tames some of the alcohol heat and more aggressive roast character.
